Rymax Lubricants in China [Official Press Release]
For over a decade, Rymax Lubricants has achieved global success, with significant growth in China through our partnership with Jiangsu Guoping Petroleum Technology. To protect our interests during an ongoing legal dispute, we are introducing the Yahe brand, exclusively for the Chinese market, ensuring continuity and quality for our customers.
For more than 10 years, we have successfully marketed and sold Rymax Lubricants worldwide. Currently, we are available in more than 60 countries. Our partnership with Jiangsu Guoping Petroleum Technology in China, marked a successful entry into the Chinese market. Thanks to the efforts of our Chinese partners, we have seen impressive growth in market share across different parts of mainland China, one of our most important markets today.
Unfortunately, we have been busy in a legal battle with Shandong Ruima regarding registering the Rymax brand in China. This legal battle is complex and challenges our understanding of honesty and justice. The matter involves multiple lawsuits, each at different stages of progress, with none yet concluded. We are determined to win and expect nothing other than a positive outcome for Rymax, but it seems that this will take time.
To protect the interest of our Chinese distributor, sub-distributors, retailers, and other customers in this process, and in close cooperation with our partner Jiangsu Guoping Petroleum Technology, we have decided to change the trademark on our products sold exclusively in the Chinese market. The globally recognized English brand name Rymax will be replaced with the brand name Yahe, 雅荷, which is the Chinese translation of Rymax. The Yahe, 雅荷, brand name will be accompanied by the phrase ‘Powered by Rymax B.V.’.
This change is effective for all products with a production date starting from September 1, 2024, and only for products produced in China.
This decision does not represent a waiver of our rights or an acknowledgment of any infringement. Rather, it reflects our commitment to prioritising the quality and services of our products, rather than being distracted by protracted legal disputes.
